PUBLIC ALERT NOTICE ON FAKE DIANESE TABLETS
The National Agency for Food and Drug administration and Control (NAFDAC) hereby alerts healthcare providers and the general public about the circulation of fake Dianese tablets, a brand of chlorpropamide tablets used in treatment of diabetic patients.
A nationwide surveillance by the Agency revealed that the counterfeit Dianese anti-diabetic drug was manufactured by Sheetal Pharma Kenchan, Industrial Estate,India and illegally imported into the country.
NAFDAC warns the general public to beware of the fake Dianese drug with batch No. 396210 which could either worsen the disease condition or kill innocent diabetic patient.
The agency advises the general public to report to the nearest NAFDAC office anybody suspected to be in possession of the offensive medicine for appropriate action or call 096709426, 08058741647, 08133630600.
