Acclaimed Leader of the International Coalition against Counterfeit Drugs and Director-General of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Dr. Paul Orhii has emphasized the need for World Health Organization (WHO) to rise up to the challenge posed by the devastating health consequences of fake drugs in developing countries.

          The Agency desire to publish a compendium of corporate profiles of all companies engaged in the Manufacture, Importation, Exportation, Distribution and sale of Drugs, processed food, cosmetics , packaged water, medical devices and other regulated products. The intended publication will be hosted by the agency on a newly dedicated website.

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), was established by Decree 15 of 1993 as amended by Decree 19 of 1999 and now Act Cap N1 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria (LFN) 2004, to regulate and control the manufacture, importation, exportation, distribution, advertisement, sale and use of food, drugs, cosmetics, chemicals, medical devices and packaged water (known as regulated products).

Amidst International recognition of his rising profile as the leading voice in the campaign against Drug counterfeiting, Director-General of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Dr. Paul Orhii has again made a passionate plea for all Medicines Regulatory Authorities in various Countries to join forces and unite in combating the increasing wave of trade in counterfeit drugs worldwide.
