NAFDAC officials were part of a delegation representing Nigeria at the African Codex Delegates Colloquium in Agadir, Morrocco from September 24th -26th 2009.
The meeting was facilitated by the US Codex Office and the US Department of Agriculture.
Twelve African countries participated including Morocco, Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Sudan, Senegal, Angola, Malawi, Burkina Faso and Nigeria.
The main objective of the colloquium was to elevate the significance of Codex work in African countries through effective participation.
Issues of mutual interest were identified and strategies for cooperation were discussed in an effort to enhance inter-regional collaboration.
