Meet the Director VMAP
Mrs. Edosa Ogbeide was appointed on the 8th of March 2018 as the Director of Veterinary Medicine and Allied Products Directorate (VMAP) of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).She was employed as a staff of the Federal Ministry of Health in 1989 but subsequently transferred her services to NAFDAC in1992 after it was created. She has over the years through hardwork, dedication and commitment to duty risen through the ranksto her current position as a director.
Mrs.E. Ogbeide, before her present appointment, was Deputy Director in charge of Narcotics and Psychotropic substances division, of the Narcotics and Controlled substances (NCS) Directorate for 2 years, Deputy Director Ports Drugs Division of the ports directorate for 3 years and Deputy Director in Establishment inspection directorate for 4 years.
Having worked in virtually all the technical directorate and served in various capacities in the course of her 26years of service to the agency; Mrs E. Ogbeide has contributed immensely to the existing regulatory framework of the agency. She has also in the process acquired a great amount of knowledge, experience and technical expertise in various aspects of medicines and regulated product regulation. Notable amongst many are her service as the agency’s focal representative for the National Drug Controlled Master Plan (NDCMP). She also served as an expert in the development of “Pain management guidelines for Nigeria”. Mrs Edosa Ogbeide was the first recipient of the Director General’s special award in 2011 for the most hardworking staff.
Mrs. Edosa Ogbeide is a graduate of University of Nigeria Nsukka where she obtained her Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm).. She has also being a contributing author of numerous NAFDAC publications.
