Applicants are required to:

• Submit all registration documents and an application letter in line with the issued guidelines at the initial stage for any service to be rendered by NAFDAC.
• Provide NAFDAC with relevant information and a detailed facility description for inspection purposes where registration and importation of NAFDAC-regulated products apply.
• Submit product samples for registration when notified by NAFDAC for laboratory analysis.
• Ensure timely payment of all fees as required (See relevant guidelines, tariffs, and fees).
• Ensure all documents are complete and correctly described to prevent unnecessary delays.

Timelines

• Registration of a regulated product and major variations: Completed within 90 working days for Food product and 240 working days for Drug  from the acceptance of the application.
• Minor variations of product registration: Processed within 60 Days for Food product and 168 working days for Drug product.

Compliance Directive (CD)

• Clients must comply with a Compliance Directive (CD) within 7 working days of issuance.
• Failure to comply with any CD issued by NAFDAC may result in application cancellation.
• Delays caused by the client will not be counted within the 60 working days for Food product and 240 working days for Drug registration timelines.
