The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) is notifying the public of the sales of unregistered Seretide Accuhaler on Instagram and online media.
On investigation, a team of NAFDAC officials visited the two addresses and got the unregistered Seretide Accuhaler in one of the locations specifically 14 Lanre Hassan Street by Destiny Avenue, off Karimu Laka, Egbeda Lagos. It was discovered that the products are being supplied and distributed by Vidana Logistics a subsidiary of Vidana Integrated Nig. Ltd. The company claimed to have obtained the products from an Indian doctor.
Investigation on the route of import and possible blockage of the routes of entry are still ongoing.
SERETIDE is used to help with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in people who need regular treatment.
Risk Statement
The illegal marketing of medicines or counterfeit medicines poses a risk to the health of people, since by not complying with the process for legal importation, the safety, quality, and efficacy of the products are not guaranteed.

Please note that the Original brand of the product is registered by NAFDAC with registration number 04-6850.
NAFDAC implores distributors, retailers, and consumers to exercise caution and vigilance to avoid distribution, sale, or use of the unregistered Seretide Accuhaler. The products’ authenticity and physical condition should be carefully checked before purchase or use.
Anyone in possession of the unregistered Seretide Accuhaler is advised to submit stock to the nearest NAFDAC office. If you, or someone you know, have used this product or suffered any adverse reaction/event after consumption, you are advised to seek immediate medical advice from a qualified healthcare professional.
Members of the public are encouraged to report any suspicion of distribution and sale of unregistered Seretide Accuhaler to the nearest NAFDAC office, NAFDAC on 0800-162-3322 or via email: sf.alert@nafdac.gov.ng
Similarly, healthcare providers and patients are also encouraged to report adverse events or side effects related to the use of the product to the nearest NAFDAC office, or through the use of the E-reporting platforms available on the NAFDAC website www.nafdac.gov.ng or via the Med-safety application available for download on android and IOS stores or via e-mail on pharmacovigilance@nafdac.gov.ng
